Cryosurgery is a technique used for the treatment of verrucae using Nitrous Oxide to freeze the verruca site to –90 degrees Celsius.

Before treatment commences the verruca site is cleansed with an antiseptic pre-operative solution and pared in the usual way. Contact gel is applied and then the tip of the treatment probe is gently applied to the verruca site. Two thirty second freezes are applied, with a two minute gap between each application. The probe is removed, as the site thaws, and the area is again cleaned with anti-septic and a dressing applied.

The dressing is to protect the treated area immediately after treatment and can be removed the following day.

Please be aware that there are certain medical conditions where Cryosurgery is not recommended. These are as follows: Diabetes Mellitus, Peripheral Vascular Disease, Any impairment of the circulation.
